Dubai International Airport has its first Plaza Premium Lounge.
Located airside in Terminal 3, the 1,260 sqm facility offers single-person ‘relaxation seats’ which can be converted into a private napping space, work stations, a cigar lounge, prayer rooms and five showers.
As well as business travellers, the lounge wants to attract families with its private 10 sqm suites catered by butlers, and large playroom for children.
Plaza Premium said food will be locally-sourced to create Arabic, Asian and other international dishes.
Access starts from USD$53 per person for a three-hour stay. Walk-in guests will receive a 25 per cent discount until February 29, 2020.
Plaza Premium Group was founded by Song Hoi-see in 1998 as a way to provide economy class passengers with a business class experience at the airport on a pay-to-access basis.
It now has lounges in nearly 50 airports, with openings due this year in Sydney, Toronto, Jakarta, Dallas and Denver.
As well as lounges, the group operates an airport hotel brand called Aerotel, an airport catering business, and an airport meet-and-greet service called Allways.
