Moti Daman Fort and Lighthouse
Daman is known for its twin forts, which are constructed on the opposite banks of the Daman Ganga River at the confluence where the river merges with the Arabian Sea. Once you enter the fort and start walking on the streets, you will be transported to a bygone era as there are several Portuguese buildings inside. Most of these buildings are now used as government offices. Painted in pastel hues of blue and pink, the entire fort region looks absolutely stunning. The Moti Daman fort was built just after the Portuguese took over Daman in the year 1559.
Adding to the serenity of Daman is a beautiful lighthouse situated in Moti Daman. The lighthouse is visible from quite a distance and looks absolutely attractive.
Nani Daman
The old quarters of Nani Daman are absolutely gorgeous though tourists generally overlook this pretty attraction. It will take you back in time with its predominant Portugese colonial charm. You’ll notice that people here have quite a laidback life.
