A federal judge has denied California’s request for an immediate restraining order that would temporarily prohibit the Trump administration from using the Marines and the National Guard to enforce laws in the state, including immigration enforcement. Senior US District Judge Charles R. Breyer set a hearing for Thursday.
About 700 Marines have been activated to help protect federal personnel and property. They are standing by and awaiting orders outside LA, and many of them are undergoing additional training prior to assisting with the protests, US officials told CNN.
