As part of its determination to uplift the standard of Ibadan Airport, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde will commission the Protocol Lounge at Alakia Airport in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital this Tuesday.
The airline also announced that it is set to launch Abuja-Ibadan route on August 17.
According to Olisa : “These new routes will be operated with our ultramodern Embraer 195-E2 aircraft, and as we take delivery of more brand new E195-E2s as well as other aircraft undergoing maintenance abroad, we shall reinstate more routes and open up more connections”.
It was reported that that Governor Makinde facilitated the commencement of flights from Ibadan by Air Peace Airlines. Sources close to the airport confirmed the development to this Online Newspaper that the airline decided to enlist the Ibadan route following what was called “encouragements” by the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde. It was gathered that the airline had already flagged off ticket sales in all its outlets.
The airline, in a confirmation notice said to have been issued to authorities of Ibadan Airport, affirmed that it will commence flights operations from Abuja to Ibadan and back starting from August 16, 2021.
A top Government functionary told GOALPOACHER NEWS correspondent that today’s event which is billed to hold at the airport will start by 10am as the Governor will receive the inaugural flight of Air Peace Airlines.
Other top government functionaries expected at the event include: Oyo Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan, Speaker Oyo House of Assembly, Rt Hon Debo Ogundoyin, Secretary to the State Government, Olubamiwo Adeosun, Chief of Staff, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi, Director -General Bureau of Public Procurement, Hon Commissioner for Public Works and Infrastructure, Professor Kehinde Sangodoyin and Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government Area.
